APTITUDE TEST - June 2008
TO
QUALIFY FOR ENROLLMENT UNDER THE
IIA
SCHEME OF EXAMINATION
1. PREAMBLE
1.1
The Indian Institute of
Architects is conducting an Aptitude Test for the Eligible Candidates to
qualify for enrollment under the IIA Scheme of Examination.
2.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE
APTITUDE TEST
2.1
Eligibility requirements for
appearing in the Aptitude Test shall be :
(a)
Three year full time Diploma in Architectural Assistantship
with minimum 50% marks, awarded by State Governments or State Boards of Technical
Education after passing 10+2 exam and One year Practical Experience after passing the Diploma
under a Qualified Architect (Employer)
OR
(b)
Three year full time diploma in Architectural Assistantship
with minimum 50% marks awarded by State Governments or State Boards of
Technical Education after passing 10th Standard
and Two years Practical Experience after
passing the Diploma under a Qualified Architect
(Employer).
Note:
Qualified Architect (Employer) would
mean an architect having a minimum of 5 years professional experience after
obtaining his degree and who is also a member of Indian Institute of
Architects.
3.
APTITUDE TEST
3.1
The aptitude Test shall be
conducted in the month of December 2007. Candidates desirous of appearing for the
Aptitude Test shall apply on the prescribed Application
Form attached at Annex – 1of the brochure obtainable from IIA office
at Navi Mumbai.
3.2
Only eligible candidates will be
allowed to appear in the Aptitude Test.
3.3
The exact dates and allotted
Centre for the Aptitude Test shall be communicate to
the eligible candidates well in advance.
3.4
The candidate will be required to
collect the Admit Card from the centre in charge of examination centre one hour
earlier on the first day of examination. The candidate may approach for advice :

SYLLABUS FOR APTITUDE TEST
4.1
The Subjects, duration of test,
maximum marks and qualifying marks for various subjects shall be as under :

* Candidates
having passed the three year full time Diploma in Architectural Assistantship
after 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics will be required to appear
only in the subject of Architectural Awareness.
** Candidates having passed the three year
full time Diploma in Architectural Assistantship after 10+2 without Physics,
Chemistry & Mathematics or after 10th Standard will be required to appear
in the subject of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics in addition to the
subject of Architectural Awareness.
5.
MEDIUM OF EXAMINATION
English shall be the medium of Examination.
6.
FEES
6.1
In addition to Rs. 150/- as cost
of brochure containing the application form, a non – refundable Fees of Rs.
750/- (Rs. Seven Hundred Fifty only) for the Aptitude Test shall be paid along
with the application form in the shape of a bank draft drawn in favour of “ The
Indian Institute of Architects ” payable at Mumbai.
7.
RESULT
7.1
The result of Aptitude Test on
declaration will be communicated to all the candidates individually.
7.2
The Institute reserves the right
to withhold or cancel the result of any candidate in case of any
misrepresentation of facts with regard to eligibility, use of unfair means
during the Test and indulging in activities and doing any act which would
render him ineligible as a candidate.
7.3
The result of the Aptitude Test
will be valid for a period of 3 years for enrollment under the IIA Scheme of
Examination.
8.
IMPORTANT DATES
8.1 Last date of receipt of request for
brochure containing the prescribed application form etc. - 16th April 2008.
8.2 Last date of Receipt of duly completed
Application forms - 30th April
2008
8.3
Last date of receipt of duly completed Application form with Late Fee of Rs.
500/- - 17th May 2008
8.4 Issue of date Sheets - 31st May 2008
8.5
Admit Card will be available at respective examination centre.
