The
Indian Institute of Architects
Examinations
The
Indian Institute of Architects holds examinations for
eligible candidates twice a year to qualify for an
election as Associate Member of the Institute.
This
Examination, which is managed, conducted and regulated by the
Board of Examinations (BOE) is a contribution towards the
emerging field of Non-Formal Technical Education.
An
Associate of the Indian Institute of Architects (AIIA),
by passing such examination, becomes eligible for registration
with the Council of Architecture (COA),
established under the Architects Act 1972.
However,
such registration with COA will remain in force till the
candidate continues his / her Associate membership / Fellow
membership with The Indian Institute of Architects by paying
subscription of the Institute on time.
" The Associate Membership of the INDIAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS (by examination) is at par with Bachelors Degree in Architecture of recognised Indian Universities as notified by the Government Of India vide its notification No. 1-51/87/T-7/T-13/TD-V dated 5th August 1992 for the purpose of employment and services under Central Govt. in appropriate field. "
