THE INDIAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTS invites entries for THE IIA AWARDS 2006, for the best
Architectural projects in various categories.

RESIDENTIAL
Single Dwellings, Multi-

complexes
PUBLIC
Buildings or complexes,
including buildings,
centres, or complexes for
governmental, public
sector, or private

OBJECT
The object of the IIA AWARDS is to encourage, acknowledge, appreciate and honour through the
professional body the significant contribution of member professionals in the field of ARCHITECTURE
PERIODICITY
The AWARDS are presented annually. A special Jury will assess the entries. The AWARDS presentation
ceremony and exhibition of AWARD winning entries will be in October 2006. The IIA AWARDS 2006,
will cover projects completed between 01 JAN 1998 and 31 DEC 2005.
JURY
The JURY will consist of the President, IIA, or his nominee, and five prominent Members of IIA. The
decision of the JURY shall be final and binding on all the participants.
AWARDS
The AWARD shall be a specially designed plaque and a certificate in each category.
SUBMISSION
The participants are requested to submit photographs of the completed work, plans and relevant
drawings in maximum SIX sheets of not more than A2 size, properly mounted so as to enable the
Jury to understand and examine the scheme. A report on the concept must accompany the
submission of work, which should contain cost of the project, technology adopted, time of completion,
etc. The participants must also send with the entry their recent passport size photographs and brief
bio-data, in not more than 150 words, in the enclosed format. CD or transparencies are not to be
sent with the entry. The envelope containing the entry should be marked as ‘ENTRY FOR IIA AWARDS
2006’ indicating the category too. Entries containing more than 6 numbers or bigger than A2 size
sheets with be disqualified.
LAST DATE OF SUBISSION OF THE ENTRIES IS 31 AUGUST 2006
The entry material sent to IIA for the AWARDS will be retained as property of IIA. The Indian Institute of
Architects shall be free to publish the entries in the Institute’s publications or display the same in
Exhibitions organized by the Institute. In case a member desires to have his/her entry returned after
the AWARDS Ceremony, the same can be done on receiving a written request from the participant.
The entry shall be returned at the participant’s risk and cost. No claims for compensation shall be
accepted by IIA on any account.
ELIGIBILITY
IIA Members having paid Subscription upto 2005-2006 and / or One Time Subscription Deposit are
eligible to send their entries. Members may be self-employed or may be employed in private or
public sector.
A Member can send one or more project entries in any number of categories. Entries, including
those sent by proxy, should be accompanied by the Entry Form duly signed by the Author of the
design / work. Office Bearers, Council Members, Chapter Chairmen, Members of Editorial Committee,
JIIA, are not eligible for the AWARD.
